Beyond “Just Say No”: a Parenting Panel about drug prevention

Beyond “Just Say No”: a Parenting Panel about drug prevention

This is the final event in the Library’s Spring Parenting Series.
One of our jobs as parents is teaching our children about drugs.  These panelists will give us information about the social, neurological and global implications of illegal drug use. We hope that information will take us beyond the “Just Say No” message of the 1980’s.  It is more than just saying “No”. Join the discussion. We will learn which messages are most effective in reaching today’s youth. Also, we will learn which of our own parental behaviors can aid in drug prevention.

Adelaida Gaviria, educator and native of Medellin, Colombia
Eric Haram, LADC, Director of Mid Coast Hospital’s Addiction Resource Center
Melissa Fochesato, Director, Access Health & Substance Abuse Prevention
